The Freelance Day Rate Calculator (EU & UK) aims for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in line with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, in force from June 2025).

Conformance status

This tool is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA: most of the calculator meets the standard, and we are actively working to close any remaining gaps.

What we have implemented

• A visible "skip to content" link so keyboard users can bypass the header.
• A single, descriptive <h1> on every page and a logical heading order.
• Form fields with associated <label> elements and keyboard-operable controls (no mouse-only interactions).
• A live region that announces the computed gross day rate to screen readers when inputs change.
• Colour contrast for body text and key result figures that meets or exceeds the AA 4.5:1 ratio against the cream background.
• Full support for the browser's prefers-reduced-motion setting, so animations are disabled for users who request reduced motion.

Known limitations

Some third-party content and edge-case focus styles are still being reviewed. If you find a barrier, please tell us — we treat accessibility reports as a priority.
